SHAFT MOUNTED FLAP WHEELS
Athena Abrasives produces flap wheels suitable for working on any type of surface, whether flat, concave, or convex, in any material. Athena Abrasives' non-woven abrasive flap wheels have found many practical and economical applications in surface finishing. The radial arrangement of their non-woven flaps, made of aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, or other types of abrasive, allows them to perfectly adapt to the contours of the entire workpiece.
SHAFT MOUNTED FLAP WHEELS (RLP)
Non-woven abrasive flap wheels with shanks are used on portable electric, pneumatic, and flexible-shaft machines for cleaning, grinding, and satin finishing of common ferrous and non-ferrous alloy steels. They are particularly suitable for finishing small or difficult-to-reach surfaces and for finishing contoured surfaces.
CP-3M Flap Wheels (RLP CP-3M)
CP-3M wheels, which are more wear-resistant, are used to achieve a consistent finish. They are particularly effective at removing imperfections such as scratches and burrs and providing a uniform finish to the workpiece.
Interleaved Shaft Mounted Flap Wheels (RLPT)
Unlike shaft-mounted flap wheels, they are made of abrasive cloth flaps alternating with non-woven fabric flaps. The cloth makes these wheels more aggressive than the previous ones and allows them to remove more pronounced marks, such as scratches and small encrustations, from the surface of the workpiece. They are suitable for gentle, quiet, vibration-free grinding.
